I earned a Master of Science degree
in Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University in 2012 and a Masters in Theological Studies with a concentration
in Christian Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology in 2000. I am licensed by the state of North Carolina
(LPC #10012). Prior to joining the staff at Piedmont Psychiatric, I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings for 5.5
years. I have also served as an adjunct professor at John Wesley University, teaching counseling and discipleship
courses. I have been trained in several
evidence-based counseling interventions, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialetical Behavior Therapy, EMDR and Motivational
Interviewing. My experience includes, but is not limited to, working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, stress
management, bipolar disorder, trauma, shame, and spiritual issues. I have worked with both adolescent and adult populations,
providing individual and group therapy. I have an eclectic approach to therapy that incorporates different modalities of care.
My approach is to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them through the counseling process. I have appointments
available in both the Clemmons and Kernersville offices.
