Dr. Barbara Morgan holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in nursing and a doctoral degree in higher education administration.  After several years as a university faculty member, dean and researcher, she returned to clinical practice and completed a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program at the University of South Alabama.  She is currently licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  At Piedmont Psychiatric Associates, she works collaboratively with Dr. Marshall and other clinical staff to provide individualized primary mental health care to adults.  This care includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management (including education, medication prescribing and monitoring) of adults with mental health problems and psychiatric disorders with the goal of helping to restore them to their highest level of functioning.
